Review: The Big Argument: Does God Exist?

John Ashton and Michael Westacott (editors), 2006. Master Books, 403 pages, £6.77.

If 2006 saw Dawkins in attacking mood on Christianity scientist Dr. John Ashton was producing a third compilation of essays from a variety of disciplines in support of the existence of God and Christian belief. One comment says, “John Ashton who brought us In Six Days and On the Seventh Day, has done it again with this compelling new book that is a must read for all Christians.” Another says, “Twenty-four scholars from a variety of disciplines explore how science, archaeology, biblical scholarship, history, and philosophy all indicate that God exists. Many young-earth creationists are included in this group and present arguments from astronomy, information theory, biological complexity and design, the origin of consciousness, and geology. When the scientific evidence is examined alongside other fields of study, such as fulfilled prophecy and evidence for the resurrection, the strong case for God’s existence is compelling.”
